One in Christ
The One in Christ Executive Committee is pleased to announce that the campaign is now complete, with gifts and pledges totaling just over $3,141,000!While One in Christ has been financially successful in building up the common ministry of the Diocese of Maine, it has also proven to be transformative in the spiritual lives and ministries of many participants. Participation has been both broad and deep, with gifts and pledges received from more than 500 individuals and congregations. We genuinely rejoice in this expression of our true communion as one in Christ.
Thank you, from each of us to all of you. Thank you for your prayers and for your participation. As pledges are fulfilled, we look forward to those grace-filled moments when we call a second Missioner for Campus Ministry; welcome newly ordained clergy who return to Maine as interns; attend to economic justice for our clergy serving in distressed communities; and continue to reduce congregational assessments. Each of these is indeed a point of celebration for all the members of the Diocese of Maine, and we thank you all for making them possible.
Finally, we know that there are individuals and congregations still in discernment around end-of-year giving. Be assured that the endowments supporting college chaplaincy, clergy internships, clergy compensation, and reduced assessments remain open to gifts in any amount at any time.
